State of Innovation Challenge

We’re inviting Washington State youth to help solve some of Washington’s most urgent problems. From food access to mental healthcare to the design of our communities, we know our youth have big ideas on how to make our state work better for everyone.

Throughout the Challenge, teachers will work with their students to solve our Challenge cases — each case is a real-world problem facing Washington State.

Teachers can access enrichment content, instructional plans connected to standards, share lesson plans with peers across the state, and get one on one support to bring project-based learning into their virtual classrooms.

Students can take advantage of industry and post-secondary connections as they design their own solutions, and submit those solutions for statewide recognition at the end of Challenge event in March.
